Alika Pruett hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as Pearl City edged Fort Worth, Texas, 4-3, yesterday in the Little League Junior (ages 13-14) World Series at Taylor, Mich.

David Lee pitched a five-hitter with five strikeouts to help Pearl City improve to 2-0.

Kaohu McCabe opened Pearl City's seventh with a single and Bryson Namba was hit by a pitch. With Kurt Poentis at bat, McCabe was caught trying to steal third. Poentis then grounded to the pitcher for the second out.

Brent Fukushima drew a walk, bringing up Pruett, who sent Jack George's first pitch high over the left-field fence for a walkoff home run.

Pearl City plays Fort Wayne, Ind., today.

SENIOR WORLD SERIES

PEARL CITY RALLIES TO REMAIN UNBEATEN

Pearl City scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Canada, 6-5, yesterday and remain unbeaten in the Little League Senior (ages 14-16) World Series at Bangor, Maine.

Kellen Ushijima hit an RBI single and pinch-hitter Nainoa Tampos drilled a two-run single to right with two outs to put Pearl City ahead 6-4 in the seventh.

Canada loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Michael Labelle's RBI single made it 6-5, but Pearl City caught a runner off of third on the play for the second out. Reliever Jason Rasa then got Andrew Agombar, who had hit two RBI singles earlier in the game, to line out to first base.

Rasa got the save for Ryno Acosta, who got the final two outs in the sixth to quell a Canada rally.

Pearl City (3-0), the lone unbeaten team in Pool A, plays host Bangor tomorrow.

RIPKEN WORLD SERIES

LAGOC-CRAWFORD HURLS O'AHU TO 12-0 VICTORY

Kalani Lagoc-Crawford pitched a one-hitter as O'ahu defeated Meridian, Miss., 12-0, yesterday in the Cal Ripken (ages 12-under) World Series at Aberdeen, Md.

Lagoc-Crawford struck out eight and walked one in a game called after four innings by the mercy rule.

Timmy Arakawa had two hits and Cory Quiamzon drove in two runs for O'ahu, which leads the National division with a 3-0 record.

O'ahu plays Calvert County, Md., tomorrow.

AMERICAN LEGION

KALANI FALLS ONE WIN SHORT OF WORLD SERIES

Drew Leary pitched a seven-hitter as Nevada-Host defeated Kalani, 6-1, yesterday in the championship game of the American Legion (ages 18-under) Western Regional at Las Vegas.

Nevada-Host, which beat Kalani twice in two days, advances to the World Series, Aug. 19 to 23, in Rapid City, S.D.

Leary, who struck out three and walked one, retired the last 14 batters he faced.

Kalani scored its lone run in the fifth, but failed to capitalize on a potential big inning. Preston Pires, Chassis Moody and Greg Hackler hit singles to load the bases with no outs. Neale Asato followed with a single to right to make it 3-1.

Leary then got the leadoff batter on a short fly to center, then induced the next batter to hit into an inning-ending double play.
