Body boarder, 25, rescued on Kaua'i

The Coast Guard rescued an injured man yesterday at Kipukai Beach on Kaua'i.
The 25-year-old man suffered a neck injury trying to get ashore after body-boarding. The Coast Guard got a call for assistance at about 2:48 p.m. and launched two boats with emergency medical personnel to the area, said spokesman Michael De Nyse.
The man was treated at the scene and flown to a hospital.
SWIMMER, HIT BY WAVE, DROWNS
A 38-year-old man from Hamburg, Germany, drowned Friday while swimming at Polihale Beach on Kaua'i.
According to police, witnesses said the man was swimming in the ocean at about 2:30 p.m. when he was struck by a wave that submerged him. He was not seen again until his body washed up on the shore, police said.
Police did not release the man's name.
