TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Joey," 8 p.m., NBC. This comedy is nudged back an hour to make room for "Deal or No Deal." It serves up a fun rerun with a surprise: Joey wasn't always such a smooth ladies' man, after all. An old girlfriend has a tape from his bad-hair, bad-moves days. She'll release it unless he apologizes on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show.
"A Christmas Story," 3 p.m., Turner Classic Movies. Don't worry, TBS will still have its 24-hour "Christmas Story" marathon on Christmas Eve. If you can't wait, however, catch the film on a sister channel. Jean Shepherd wrote a dark, droll account of a 1940s Christmas when all one little boy really wanted was a BB gun. That story is wittily told here, with Bob Clark directing and young Peter Billingsley starring.
OF NOTE
"Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute on Ice," 6 p.m., Bravo. For 36 years, Earth, Wind & Fire has been making vibrant music. Now this skating special, which aired Saturday afternoon on NBC, uses that music as a backdrop for skaters.
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 7 p.m. ABC. Here's a quick rerun of a two-hour holiday special. It revisits families that were helped previously and then asks them to help others. Also showing up are Brian Wilson, first lady Laura Bush, James Denton and Wayne Newton.
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. It's an all-crime rerun night for CBS. In this episode, a rising movie star is killed; so are two Laotians and their taxi driver. That hour is sandwiched by "Without a Trace" reruns at 7 and 9 p.m.
"Will & Grace," 8:30 p.m., NBC. Jack is determined to teach Will how to swim. Meanwhile, Andy Richter plays Grace's blind date. He has a penchant for long meals and bad poetry.
"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. In a rerun from last year, Abby is fuming. A patient needs help but the doctor is trying to stay out of reach during Christmas.
