Woman shot at Nanakuli beach

A 28-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder yesterday afternoon at Track's Beach Park in Nanakuli.
Police said the woman was in guarded condition last night at The Queen's Medical Center. No arrests have been made, police said.
The woman was at the park about 5 p.m. when she was hit in the left shoulder by a bullet, police said. The woman told police she did not know where the shot came from or who may have fired the shot.
SUSPECT HITS MAN WITH CAR, FLEES
A 51-year-old man escaped serious injury yesterday after he was hit by a car as he attempted to stop a man from stealing auto parts.
The man, who works at a Pearl City tow yard, told police that a man tried to drive off with stolen car parts. Police said the suspect, in his 20s, drove at the man and struck him about 11:10 a.m.
The man suffered abrasions to his arm and hand and pain to his rib cage, but he refused medical treatment, police said.
There were no arrests as of last night.
ALLEGED SHOPLIFTER HAD DAGGER IN BELT
A 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon and shoplifting at a Honolulu grocery store Wednesday, police said.
At 6:10 p.m., officers arresting the man found a dagger tucked into his belt, police said. The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a deadly weapon, police said.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED THREATS
Police arrested a 43-year-old woman who allegedly threatened a city bus driver in downtown Honolulu Wednesday.
The woman got onto a city bus at the corner of Bethel and Hotel streets at 6:20 p.m., police said.
The woman started to harass passengers, police said, before threatening the 37-year-old male bus driver. The driver called police but the woman got off the bus before officers arrived, police said.
Later in the evening the driver saw the woman walking on Hotel Street and again called police. She was arrested on suspicion of interfering with a transit operator.
INTIMIDATION OF WITNESSES ALLEGED
A 25-year-old Honolulu man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly intimidated two women set to testify against him in a domestic abuse case, police said.
On Nov. 20, the man was arrested on suspicion of abusing his 26-year-old girlfriend.
The woman's roommates, both 19, gave witness statements to police. The boyfriend was bailed out of jail that day and returned to the house.
On Dec. 3, the two roommates were served with subpoenas compelling them to testify against the boyfriend, police said. The boyfriend threw a tantrum and broke an air conditioner owned by one of the roommates, police said.
The man threatened both of the witnesses who were to testify against him, and neither showed up in court, police said.
Police arrested the man yesterday on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of intimidating a witness and third-degree criminal property damage.
DIP IN BIG ISLAND ROAD DEATHS, DUI
Traffic fatalities and drunken-driving arrests in Hawai'i County are slightly below last year's pace, Big Island police reported.
There have been 35 traffic fatalities on the Big Island so far this year, compared with 39 for the same period last year, a decrease of 10 percent.
However, there have been 18 alcohol-related fatalities so far this year, twice as many as at this time last year
Through Monday, Big Island police made 1,055 DUI arrests, compared with 1,065 during the same period last year.
There have been 2,348 major accidents so far this year, compared with 2,449 during the same period last year.
