Kaimuki outlasts Kapa'a in first round

Alyssia Fiamate had 10 kills and Kelsey Rita added nine as Kaimuki outlasted Kapa'a, 25-21, 15-26, 25-22, in the first round of the HHSAA Girls State Division II Volleyball Championships last night at Radford High School.
Kassy Feary-Ramos and Louise Fiamate each had 10 kills for Kaimuki, of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association.
Kaimuki had 32 kills and nine errors, and hit .311.
The Bulldogs will face Big Island Interscholastic Federation champion and No. 4 seed Honoka'a today at 3:30 p.m.
Poerava Gantt had 18 kills to lead Kapa'a, of the Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation. The Red Raiders will play Hana in a consolation match today at 2 p.m.
Sacred Hearts def. Konawaena: Tiffany Phillips had seven kills and Lauren Wong added six as Sacred Hearts won, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20. The Lancers, of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, will face No. 2 seed Radford (OIA) tonight at 6:30.
Maryknoll def. St. Joseph's: Elissa Ji had eight kills and Kristen Ho had 11 digs as Maryknoll won, 25-22, 25-13. The Spartans, of the ILH, will play No. 3 seed Seabury Hall (MIL) today at 5 p.m.
Kaiser def. Hana: Kaiser hit just .044, but beat Hana, 25-11, 21-25, 25-15. Kaiser (OIA) will play top seed Saint Francis (ILH) tonight at 8. Hana (MIL) had 20 kills and 24 errors for a negative .056 percentage.
