A number of management changes were announced by Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co., an Alexander & Baldwin Inc. division, triggered by the planned retirement in April of FELIX HUBINGER, vice president of factory and power plant operations. Hubinger's 18-year career with HC&S has also included management of the company's Pu'unene mill and the firm's industrial shops.
These changes, and promotions to vice president, include:
FRANK E. KIGER, vice president of farming operations, promoted to vice president of factory operations, and continuing as general manager of the Maui Brand, and president and general manager of Kauai Coffee.
RICK W. VOLNER JR., previously farm manager of Lowrie, Ma'alaea and mill water, promoted to vice president, farming operations. Reporting to Volner will be all the farm managers.
JOHN T. JACKSON, previously executive vice president and general manager of company affiliate Kahului Trucking & Storage Co., will transfer to HC&S in his new position of vice president, strategic planning.
DOUGLAS R. JONES, head of a family-owned, multicrop, farm and contract farming operation, and since 1985 a member of the Idaho House of Representatives, has been hired as vice president, agricultural services.
In other HC&S changes, GLENN W. WILBOURN, previously HC&S director, agricultural services, was promoted to executive vice president, Kahului Trucking & Storage. He is responsible for managing the trucking company, Kaua'i Commercial Co., A&B Fleet Services and the HC&S mobile equipment department.
Peter Ingram has been named chief financial officer at Hawaiian Airlines, effective Dec. 1. A former American Airlines/American Eagle executive, Ingram succeeds Steve Jackson, who has filled the CFO role since August 2004.
LES MURASHIGE has been promoted to chief operating officer at Island Air. The Kaua'i native helped establish the interisland carrier's new reservations and online booking system, and in developing the routes the regional carrier now flies. In his new capacity, he will manage day-to-day operations as well as training and customer service operations.
RICHARD SCHOLL has been named vice president, maintenance and engineering for Aloha Airlines.
Scholl's 45-year aviation career began as a Navy mechanic and captain in 1960. He also has worked for Continental Airlines, Lockheed Martin and Polar Air Corp.
Big Island native MAILE HORNER has been named travel-industry sales manager for Kaua'i Visitors Bureau. Besides managing North America travel trade and wholesale contracts, she will also be responsible for the Kaua'i Destination Specialist program. Horner was most recently with Primm Valley Casino Resorts in Nevada, where, since 2000, she has been convention sales manager, tour and travel sales manager and sales coordinator.
