Lee ties for 7th at PGA assistant pro tourney

Regan Lee shot 76 and 74 yesterday in the final two rounds of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship at Port St. Lucie, Fla., to finish in a tie for seventh place.

Lee, an 'Aiea graduate who works at Pearl Country Club, finished with a four-round total of 293 at the par-72 course to earn $2,100.

Kyle Flinton, of Oklahoma City, became the first three-time winner of the tournament. Flinton, who earned $9,000 and an invitation to the 2006 Australian PGA National Futures Championship, was the only player to finish under par. He finished at 6-under 282.


TRIATHLON

SPECK, ROSS CAPTURE TITLES AT HALE'IWA

Mark Speck and Rachel Ross won the overall titles yesterday at the Bikefactory Hale'iwa Triathlon on the North Shore.

Speck completed the 400-yard ocean swim, 12-mile bike ride and 3-mile run in 51 minutes, 54 seconds to win the men's title.

Ross finished in 57:06.

In the men's relay, Tom Sanford, Tony Barcia and Keith Errecart won in 59:20.

Michelle Ward, Meghan Ness and Karla Eilinsfeld won the women's relay in 1:13:45.

In the mixed relay, Tomoko Turner, Ernest Tay and Fish Arabia won in 59:53.
