Three people pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of trademark infringement for selling fake National Football League T-shirts in the parking lot of Aloha Stadium at the Pro Bowl on Feb. 13.
But the three are asking Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario to defer accepting their guilty pleas to enable them to have the cases dropped.
Glenn Marziotto, 47, of Florida; Brendan Schiff, 36, of California, and Melissa Lieberman, 30, of California, pleaded guilty to the charge that carries a prison term of up to five years.
Del Rosario scheduled a hearing for March 1 to determine whether to defer the pleas or sentence the defendants.
City Deputy Prosecutor Christopher Van Marter said he will oppose the defense deferral request, but said he did not know what he will recommend at sentencing other than a substantial fine.
Van Marter said 72 T-shirts were confiscated, but authorities did not know how many they sold before the three were caught. He said the shirts were being sold for $10 each.

The state will tear down the old restroom inside Diamond Head crater on Friday now that a newer, handicapped-accessible restroom with drinking fountains has been completed.
The new restrooms are part of improvements recently completed at Diamond Head State Monument that include a shelter at the drop-off/pick-up area, vending machines and a lunchwagon concession station.
Financing for the improvements came in part from the Hawai'i Tourism Authority through the Transient Accommodations Tax revenues. Recently the state also improved lighting in the upper trail tunnel and stairs and safety railings at the summit, and expanded the parking lot.
