His 1996 "Breaking the Waves" protagonist believed a higher power demanded she be a sexual deviant to save her dying husband's life. His 2003 musical "Dancer in the Dark" featured Bjork in the lead. And "Manderlay" at Doris Duke Theatre tonight? It's the minimalist, sound-stage-filmed part two of von Trier's America-ripping trilogy that began with 2004's "Dogville." Pass the popcorn! RAPE-FREE ZONE CONFERENCE OPENS

During sex-assault awareness month, GiRLFeST Hawaii presents the two-day Rape-Free Zone Conference. The awareness-raising event kicks off at 11 a.m. tomorrow with a lecture by Jean Kilbourne, author of "Can't Buy My Love: How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel," followed by political theorist and educator (and poet) Haunani-Kay Trask at 1:30 p.m., both at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Campus Center Ballroom.
