Kamehameha tops Iolani, 41-33

Tatriana Lorenzo scored a game-high 18 points as Kamehameha handed visiting Iolani its first loss of the season, 41-33, last night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I girls basketball game.

The score was tied 22-22 entering the fourth quarter when the Warriors (3-2) outscored the Raiders (4-1) 17-9.

Jamie Smith led Iolani with eight points.

The teams meet again tonight at Iolani at 6:30.

Iwalani Rodrigues scored 11 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to carry the visiting Rough Riders to an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red East Division victory.

Shannon Miyashiro added 12 points for Roosevelt, which improved to 9-1 and remain in first place in the East.

Camilla Ah-Hoy scored 17 points and Artevia Wily 14 for the Red Raiders.

Sharde Pratt had 26 points and Keely Bitanga scored the game-winning basket on a layup with 10 seconds left in overtime to lift the host Cougars.

With Kaiser trailing 50-49, Jessica Dusich stole an inbound pass under the Cougars' basket and found Bitanga, who drove the lane.

Jeeter Ishida batted 3 for 3, including a home run and two RBIs, as the Buffanblu outlasted the Owls in nine innings at Aloha Stadium.

Maika Murashige and Steven Dannaway each had two hits, and Dannaway drove in two runs for Punahou in a game that was tied 1-1 through the scheduled seven innings.

Seob Yoon batted 3 for 4 and Adam Tamashiro had two RBIs for Mid-Pacific, which couldn't hold leads of 3-1 and 5-2 in the eighth and ninth innings.
