Island band Na Kama celebrates the release of its latest CD, "Kamakolu!" with a party jam at Gordon Biersch on Sunday. Joining them on stage will be Halunape, Weldon Kekauoha, Barry Kimakea and special (and as yet undisclosed) guests.

FESTIVAL: AUG. 12

No bags to pack, no passports to stamp. The second annual International Festival is a globetrot without leaving the island. It features food such as lumpia, empanadas, enchiladas, Hawaiian stew, lamb gyros and baklava; entertainment including taiko, 'ukulele sounds, belly dance, Vietnamese folk songs, Chinese dance and Rolando Sanchez and Salsa Hawaii; arts and crafts; and an exotic-car display. There are gondola-style boat rides, too, for $2. Admission is free, and there's a free shuttle from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Koko Head Elementary School. The event is a benefit for the Friends of Hanauma Bay.

CONCERT: AUG. 15

The always popular Makaha Sons will close the Bishop Museum's Moonlight Mele on the Lawn concert series. The trio — John Koko, Louis "Moon" Kauakahi and Jerome Koko — celebrates its 30th anniversary of merry music making this year. Tickets are $15 general, $10 for Bishop Museum members and Bank of Hawaii customers and employees, $5 for children 4-12.

CONCERT: AUG. 18

Keahi Conjugacion sings Hawaiian and jazz songs at Hawaii Public Radio's Atherton Performing Arts Studio. Part of the musical Conjugacion clan, Keahi honed her improv skills in Seattle. More news on Keahi: She's working on a CD that may be released before year's end. Tickets are $17.50 general, $15 HPR members, $10 students.

Multi-instrumentalist Abe Lagrimas Jr. strums his original 'ukulele stuff from his debut CD, "Dimensions," in a solo outing. Lagrimas, who also will perform on drums and vibraphone, takes listeners on a journey through jazz, fusion, world and pop genres. Tickets are $20.

Get a head start on Christmas shopping at the 2006 Made in Hawaii Festival. All manner of Island-made products — art, fashions, crafts, jewelry, home furnishings and produce — will be showcased. Highlights include cooking demonstrations, food samples and performances by Melveen Leed, Jay Larrin, Na Palapalai, Genoa Keawe, Frank DeLima, Maunalua and Aaron Sala. Admission is $3 general and free for 6 and younger.

Honolulu Broadway Babies presents the benefit concert "Broadway Mixed Plate 2006: Fresh Off the Boat." The star-studded roster of musical talent includes Broadway Babies founder Kristian Lei, fresh off of "The King and I." Tickets are $27, $47, $57 and $67.

CONCERT: AUG. 25

Indie rock band She Wants Revenge, led by Justin Warfield and Adam "Adam 12" Bravin, makes its Hawai'i debut. The Los Angeles band claims influences that range from Fellini and Jarmusch to Tangerine Dream and Morrissey, from Echo and the Bunnymen to Beethoven and Coltrane — according to its MySpace page, anyway (www.myspace.com/shewantsrevenge).

Revenge made a splash after much radio airplay in SoCal; its self-titled CD was released in January. Opening band is Linus. Tickets are $20 for this all-ages show.

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, Honolulu Theatre for Youth opened its 52nd season with the classic fairy tale "Snow White." The HTY version features comedy, original music, dance and one actor appearing as all seven dwarves for a different twist on this familiar story about a princess and her wicked stepmother. Tickets are $16 general and $8 youths and seniors.

Glen Phillips, frontman of the long-defunct Toad the Wet Sprocket, stops in Honolulu on his solo acoustic tour to promote his latest CD, "Mr. Lemons." Phillips last performed in Honolulu in April 2003. Tickets are $22 advance, $28 general.

Love the Temptations? Go back in time at A Touch of Gold's sixth annual Labor Day "A Tribute to Soul"dinner concert. Feel the magic of yesteryear with songs such as "Just My Imagination" and "My Girl." Comedian Bo Irvine also appears. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $45.

Manoa Valley Theatre opens its 38th season with the musical comedy "Urinetown." This satire tells of a city that is forced to switch from private respite to paid public toilets during a severe water shortage. Songs include "It's a Privilege to Pee," "Mr. Cladwell" and "Run, Freedom, Run!" Tickets are $30.
