Fifth OceanFest opens tomorrow in Waikiki

 •  Athlete enjoys trials of stunt bike riding

Surfing, paddling, volleyball, swimming and paddling highlight the fifth annual Duke's OceanFest, tomorrow to Aug. 27 in Waikiki.

The Oceanfest is a series of events that helps raise money for the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation, which provides college scholarships and athletic grants.

Tomorrow — Hawai'i Paddleboard Championship, 11 a.m., 9-mile open ocean course from Hawai'i Kai to Kaimana Beach

Sunday — Lanikai Canoe Club's 39th Annual Duke Kahanamoku Classic, 24-mile open ocean course from Kailua to Duke Kahanamoku Beach. First canoes expected at 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday to Aug. 26 — Corona Hawaiian Open Pro Surf Contest, 7:30 a.m., Waikiki Beach

Thursday to Aug. 26 — ISA/ ITSA Sanction World Tandem Surf Championship, 12:50 p.m., Waikiki Beach, Queen's Surf

Aug. 25-26 — Hawaiian Airlines Duke's Legends Surf Classic, 7:30 a.m., Waikiki Beach, Queen's Surf

Aug. 25 — Sheraton Surfing Under the Stars, 7:30 p.m., canoe racing and tandem surfing in front of the Sheraton Moana Surfrider

Aug. 26 — Duke's Ocean Mile Swim, 9 a.m., fronting Duke's Waikiki

Aug. 26 — Toes on the Nose Surf Polo Tournament, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 6-person teams play water polo while on surfboards, Kapahulu Groin

Aug. 26 — Corona Extra Duke Classic Beach Volleyball Tournament, 9 a.m., teams of three men and one woman, Kuhio Beach

Aug. 27 — Waterman Challenge, 10 a.m., relay race including 500-yard swim, 1,000-yard board paddle and 2,000-yard canoe race, fronting Duke's Waikiki.
