In Susan Seidelman's "Boynton Beach Club," a tale of life and love among the geriatric set, Dyan Cannon and Sally Kellerman prove that not 60 but 69 is the new 40. Both actresses, who are the same age, play characters who pursue love with the ardor of women half as old.

Cannon's character, Lois, is a bubbly widow in a community of Florida retirees.

Kellerman was drawn to the role of Sandy, she says, because of a bedroom scene. "And not just the part where I show my breasts!"

Cannon recoils when asked how it feels to play an aging sex goddess: "In the first place, honestly, I don't count years. That's the only thing I lie about is years. Secondly, I don't feel like an aging anything." Cannon calls aging " 'unfoldment.' I think of it like a flower opening to the light. As you open to let more light in, you become more beautiful."

Kellerman says that although roles for older women have traditionally been scarce in Hollywood, she's optimistic about more opening up: "It's happening in little increments. ... I've always felt like it was up to us to not be victims, to stand around and say there are no parts."
