Kalani's boys volleyball program was resurrected in 2005 after an almost 30-year absence, and this season the Falcons flew to a 9-1 record in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's Division II Eastern Division.
Kalani reached another milestone when senior Daniel Morisato was named DII East Player of the Year in a recent vote of league coaches.
Morisato, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter, helped the Falcons reach the Division II state tournament for the first time.
Farrington led the way with five players named to the DII East all-star first team: Maynard Bala, Josh Ligot, Ziggy Muramoto, Benji Pulawa and Lance Kinningham. Bala was selected as a libero.
Kalani's Max Fujio and Chase Suzumoto, a setter, round out the first team. Marumoto is the only repeat first-team selection.
Kalani's Keali'i Alexander repeated as Coach of the Year.
