Man slits wrists at Kapolei station

A 40-year-old man barricaded himself inside the Kapolei police station yesterday morning for nearly three hours after he walked in with a knife and slit his wrists.
The incident began at 8:40 a.m.
After the man walked into the main lobby and slit his wrists, he began threatening police and others in the station. Police evacuated the area and the man worked his way into a hallway and barricaded himself between a vending machine and a concrete wall, police said.
Members of the department's specialized services division and crisis negotiation team were called in. By about 11:30 a.m., the man had become weak from blood loss and police were able to disarm him.
The man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in stable condition and will be given a psychological examination, police said.
His wounds were not life-threatening, according to the city office of emergency services.
STOLEN-TRUCK CRASH LEADS TO ARREST
A 29-year-old Makakilo woman was arrested yesterday after crashing a stolen Nissan pickup truck into a retaining wall of a Halawa home at 99-957 Lalawai Drive.
The homeowner reported the incident to police at 6:15 a.m. Police said the truck had fraudulent license plates.
Angela C. Higa, wanted on four misdemeanor warrants totaling $600, was booked on suspicion of auto theft and driving without a license.
METH, MARIJUANA SEIZED ON KAUA'I
The Kaua'i Police Department's Narcotics Enforcement Unit seized 62.7 grams of methamphetamine, 25.9 grams of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash last week in a raid on a housing complex for the elderly in 'Ele'ele.
A man, 58, and woman, 50, were arrested on suspicion of methamphetamine trafficking, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug.
2 CHARGED WITH DRUG DEALING
Two people were charged yesterday in a federal indictment with trafficking crystal methamphetamine.
Rudy Alcosiba Generalao is accused of receiving 2 pounds of crystal meth from co-conspirator Rhonda Kamalii, also known as Rhonda Baltazar, for the purpose of selling it for $80,000 to a buyer on July 13 in the parking lot of an Iwilei-area company. Generalao also is charged with possessing a .25-caliber Raven Arms pistol while trafficking drugs.
According to the indictment, Kamalii allegedly delivered 4 pounds of crystal meth to Generalao on July 13 for distribution.
WOMAN ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED OFFICER
A 35-year-old Kane'ohe woman was arrested Sunday night after she allegedly attacked a police officer.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of harassment and one count of assaulting a law enforcement officer after she allegedly punched and scratched a Kane'ohe patrolman.
The officer responded to a report of a domestic argument at 10:18 p.m. Sunday at 46-267 Kahuipa St. The woman got angry and attacked the officer, police said.
The officer subdued the woman and arrested her.
The officer suffered scratches to his head and neck but did not need medical treatment, police said.
