A 39-year-old man accused of terrorizing an 'Ahuimanu neighborhood pleaded guilty to two felony charges of terroristic threatening, but was released to a residential drug treatment program at Sand Island.

David R. Domingues now faces a maximum five-year prison term for each count when he is sentenced May 15.

Circuit Judge Steve Alm set aside Domingues' $2 million bail in placing Domingues on supervisory release.

City Deputy Prosecutor Clinton Piper said he likely will ask that Alm sentence Domingues to a maximum 10 years in prison.

Domingues had threatened his neighborhood for more than 10 years, according to prosecutors. Neighbors decided to fight back with six families filing restraining orders against Domingues.

Domingues was later indicted by the O'ahu grand jury in November on two counts of terrorizing two neighbors, threatening them and verbally abusing them with racial slurs. Domingues has been in custody since his arrest Nov. 17.

The neighbors yesterday opposed the request to place Domingues on supervisory release.

Alm ordered Domingues to remain at the residential program pending the sentencing.
