Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) senior utility player Annie Richardson (Punahou '02 of Honolulu) was named the American Water Polo Coaches Association Division III Player of the Year.

Richardson was also the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Freshman driver Catherine Taschner (Iolani '05 of Honolulu) also played for CMS.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

  • Hardin-Simmons (Abilene, Texas) junior middle blocker Virginia Aguilar is an American Southwest Conference Member Award recipient.

    Aguilar, a Waimea graduate from Kalaheo, Kaua'i, was the ASC West Player of the Year.

    She maintained a 4.0 grade point average in computer science, and is the first ASC volleyball player to earn ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA College Division Academic All-America first-team honors, earning the recognition last year.

    TRACK AND FIELD

  • Recent Michigan graduate Todd Iacovelli (Punahou '02) was named to the Big Ten Conference Academic All-Conference spring team.

    Iacovelli was an economics major.

    WOMEN'S SWIMMING

  • Connecticut College junior Ali Wilson (Punahou of Honolulu) was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Winter All-Academic team.

    BASEBALL

  • LeTourneau University (Longview, Texas) sophomore outfielder Ethan Cravalho (Ka'ahumanu Hou of Honoka'a) was named to the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference team for the spring season. Cravalho is an aerospace science major.

    MEN'S GOLF

  • Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, Texas) sophomore Shaun Felechner (Lahainaluna of Lahaina) was named to the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference team for the spring season.

    Felechner is a marketing major. He posted an 82.6 stroke average for the Crusaders this season.

    MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

  • Graceland (Lamoni, Iowa) sophomore outside hitter Al Dupont (Pearl City) was named to the Mid-America Men's Intercollegiate Volleyball Conference West Division second team.

    Dupont played in 83 regular-season games, finishing with a .217 hitting percentage and averaging 3.04 kills per game.

    Also on Graceland's roster for the 2005-06 season were junior defensive specialist Ian Woodward (Maryknoll '03 of Mililani), freshman outside hitter Ronson Olaso (Kamehameha '05 of Waialua), senior defensive specialist Donan Cruz (Baldwin of Wailuku), sophomore setter Ainoa Miyashiro (Kamehameha '04 of Honolulu) and outside/right side hitter Clint Torres (Leilehua '01).

    FOOTBALL

  • Northern State (Aberdeen, S.D.) junior safety Una Latu (Saint Louis '00) was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Newcomer of the Year.

    Latu, who transferred from Orange Coast, was also named to the NSIC first team. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 58, including 28 solo. He also had four interceptions and two blocked kicks.

    COMMITMENT

  • Recent Kamehameha graduate Kuuipo "Noe" Esperas has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Eastern Arizona College, according to Mililani Prep coach Glenn Jicha.
