EXPO: JULY 28-30

"Fall in Love Again ... With Your Home" is the theme of the 2nd annual Remodel It Right expo, featuring 100 exhibitor booths of contractors, suppliers and building-industry specialists and meet-the-experts discussions. Admission is $3 general, free for youngsters 11 and younger when accompanied by paying adult; a three-day pass is $4; $1 for those 55 and older on July 30.

FESTIVAL: JULY 29

The I Love Kalihi Festival is a daylong family event that includes crafts, new products, entertainment, bouncers and a new-car display. It's sponsored by the Kalihi Business Association. Admission is free.

CONCERT: JULY 30

The 36th annual Ukulele Festival features strum-happy 'ukulele players from California, Texas, Illinois, Japan, Canada and Hawai'i. This year's roster includes Ohta-San, right, Danny Kaleikini, Holunape, Herb Ohta Jr., Brittni Paiva, James Hill, Yuji Igarashi, Ukulele Ladies and Gents of Texas, Na Kupuna Ukulele Club of Chicago, Hiram Bell and the HUI Players and Roy Sakuma's 800-piece Ukulele Band. Admission is free.

CONCERT: AUG. 4-5

"Swingtime Hana Hou!" is the theme of the Hawaii International Jazz Festival's two-night tribute to Nat "King" Cole, courtesy of Freddy Cole, below, brother of Nat, and the Freddy Cole Quartet. Other performers include Scott Martin, Gabe Baltazar, Nathan Aweau, The Four Freshmen and Groove Society. Tickets are $25, $40 and $50, with a $5 discount for theater members, those 62 and older, military and students.

Pack your bags because Band Camp IV is back in a big way with a lineup of Hoobastank, Hot Hot Heat, The Fray and Rock Kills the Kid. That means post grunge to indie rock to alternative pop-rock. Band Camp, usually held at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, has a new venue this year. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $37.

COMEDY: AUG. 12

Next up to the Laugh Factory plate is David Alan Grier. After achieving fame on the variety show "In Living Color," the actor and stand-up comedian went on to appear in movies such as "Boomerang," "Jumanji" and "Bewitched." Grier's other TV credits include "Comedy Central Presents," "Premium Blend" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Tickets are $29 and $39.

Get down to some musical monkey business with hip-hop greats the Black Eyed Peas, below. The Grammy Award-winning group of "My Humps" fame is set to appear in concert with the whole group in tow: William, Fergie, apl.de.ap and Taboo. Tickets are $45 and $58.50.

THE ARTS: AUG. 12-13

The Honolulu Academy of Arts presents the 12th annual Showcase, left, a two-day art-filled event that features a preview sale the first day, with 15-minute artist talks and featured artists Yvonne Cheng, Rick Mills and Koi Ozu. Admission is free. The second day is the Showcase 2006 Food and Wine Extravaganza with an art sale, entertainment and wine tasting. Tickets are $85.
