As Bjork once eloquently wrote, "All is full of love."

But is The Love Festival — that annual thousands-drawing post-millennial-rave-substitute at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park — really full of amour?

Check your hate at the gate and come on people now, smile on your brothers (and sisters). This gathering of like-minded turntablists-in-the-great-outdoors fans really is all about the love, said founding and current fest promoter/participating DJ G-Spot.

"There's always a lot of kissing going on," he said.

Random kissing? We're so there, dude.

"I've never done it randomly. I have to think if I've ever kissed somebody at The Love Festival. ... But maybe if you printed that no one's ever randomly kissed G-Spot at The Love Festival, I'll get a smooch or something this year."

Done.

The Love Festival celebrates its eighth year (in Honolulu, anyway) on Saturday with its usual eight hours of turntablists, vendor booths, art installations, snacks and energy drinks. This year's two-city fest (Los Angeles got its Love jones on in May at the L.A. Sports Arena) promises two stages and all the trance, house, hip-hop, breakbeats, drum-n-bass, emceeing and live drumming you can stomach for 20 to 30 bucks and a drive to Kapolei.

A Love Festival newbie? Don't remember how you got to last year's fest or how you got home? Here are five things you might want to know about The Love Festival before you actually go to The Love Festival.

So come aboard. They're expecting you. Just don't bring a Zip Pac.

1) It's a lot like MySpace without an Internet connection and all the fake profiles. In other words, The Love Festival is, like, so every-kind-of-people, you'll definitely want to mingle.

"Meet a new friend," said G-Spot, offering advice to newcomers. "Everyone there is pretty much in a happy mood. It just has that history. So it's easy to meet new people."

Make that several new people. Attendance averages 3,000 to 4,000 shiny happy folk.

"Go with an open mind and enjoy it," said G-Spot. "If someone smiles at you, smile back."

2) We've got turntablists.

"Area 1" will house headlining DJ George Acosta and DJs Reza, AM/FM Alexander, Kam, IKON, K-Smooth and G-Spot.

Headlining "Area 2" is hip-hop/breakbeat/drum-n-bass master DJ Craze and the X-Ecutioners' self-proclaimed "ninja of rap" Roc Raida, with DJs SovernT, Big Daddy Dave, PSI and Metal X.

G-Spot had some advice here, too.

"People should definitely check out DJ Craze. I think he's the sickest DJ in the world. There's other great ones. But he's one of them for sure. ... His skills are just amazing."

And over in "Area 1"?

"This is the first year we're doing a trance headliner in a long time," said G-Spot. "And George Acosta is a really big trance DJ."

In other words, dance on the lawn or anywhere else your love-filled heart desires.

3) What to bring and what not to bring.

Pretty simple advice here if you want to get past security. Bring as little junk as possible.

No outside food or drinks, video cameras or large bags are allowed. Park concessions offer a menu of grinds and drinks. Alcohol is available for purchase if you're 21 or older.

"It's the same rules as a concert at Blaisdell Arena or the Waikiki Shell," said G-Spot. "Think of it that way."

4) Arrival time depends on your Love Fest needs.

In other words, know that the fest's peak hour for arrivals is 11 p.m. and then plan accordingly.

Want that sweet spot on the lawn — a little to the rear and a bit to the right of the stage — for your little band of lovelies' home base? Arrive at 8 p.m. when the fest gates open and lines are shorter.

Want to avoid the lines completely? Give up the extra cash for a VIP ticket ($60 presale, $75 gate, for 21 and older only) offering an express entrance, backstage access and an exclusive stageside party area with an open vodka and beer bar.

Parking typically isn't a problem at the fest (if you don't count the line to actually drive in). But it'll cost you $5 a vehicle for a stall.

G-Spot suggested carpooling, and a designated driver.

5) Where the freakin' after party is and more.

So The Love Festival is over and you still haven't found somebody to love. Or you just don't want to go home.

Enjoy the drive back to town with a post-fest "House Nation" soundtrack spun live by DJs G-Spot, K-Smooth, IKON, and Reza on Hot 93.9 FM, from 3 to 5 a.m.

Fest DJs (including Kam, AM/FM Alexander, G-Spot, PSI, IKON, etc.) also plan to cheat sleep with Red Bulls and spin at The Love Festival's official after-hours party at Skybox from 2 to 8 a.m.

After all that? Lazy Sunday ... wake up in the late afternoon ... cupcakes.
