'Bows' pitcher Daly named freshman All-American

University of Hawai'i pitcher Matt Daly was named to the Louisville Sluggers' Freshman All-America Team, Collegiate Baseball newspaper announced yesterday.
It is the second consecutive year a Rainbow has earned the honor. Infielder Joe Spiers was on last year's team.
Daly was 6-2 with a 3.13 ERA, striking out 52 and walking 26 in 52 2/3 innings. The right-hander made 22 appearances, two of them starts. He had one save.
Earlier, UH starting pitcher Steven Wright was named to Louisville Sluggers' All-America third team. He was drafted in the second round by the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday and is expected to sign.
