'AIEA — A gunman fired a warning shot at two employees last night while pulling off his second Subway sandwich shop robbery in as many days, police said.

Police Detective Paul Nagata said the man who robbed the Subway store at the 'Aiea Commercial Building appears to be the same man who held up a Subway outlet Saturday at the Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center.

No injuries were reported in the robberies.

The gunman entered the 'Aiea store yesterday shortly before 6 p.m. and confronted two female employees, ages 19 and 42, said Nagata.

"He walked in brandishing a handgun and this time got a little impatient," Nagata said. "He directed a shot to the rear of the store away from the women."

In Saturday's robbery, a gunman entered the Subway store at 8:30 p.m., approached the cashier and demanded money. Two employees were threatened with a gun.

In both cases the robber escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police yesterday released photos of the gunman from Saturday's robbery.

The gunman is believed to be about 5 feet 7 and 180 pounds. He wore a black aloha print shirt and blue denim shorts on Saturday.
