You've got three days left to visit the Chinatown Yacht Club. Huh? Surrounding a weathered dinghy suspended from the ceiling are banners scrawled with the names of every establishment in Chinatown. "It's a full survey of ground-level shops showing the diversity, potential, tensions and flavors of this quickly changing urban treasure," says artist Rich Richardson, The ARTS at Marks Garage creative director. He created the work for a show in Houston put on by Shifting Sands Communities: Art, Culture and Neighborhood Change, which supports neighborhood-based arts and cultural organizations as stakeholders in neighborhoods experiencing economic and demographic shifts.
