"Hawai'i's Ambassador of Aloha" will be honored when St. Francis Healthcare Foundation and Hawaiian 105 KINE present "An Evening of Aloha: A Tribute to Danny Kaleikini." The star-studded roster of performers includes Gabe Baltazar, Jimmy Borges, Tony Conjugacion, Cathy Foy, Kimo Kahoano, Nalani Olds, Rene Paulo and Kit Samson. Tickets are $25-$75. FILM FESTIVAL: MARCH 31-APRIL 6
The Hawaii International Film Festival's Spring Showcase will screen 26 features from 13 countries, with a heavy contingent from Japan and Australia. The opening night film, "Always Sunset on Third Street," is a blockbuster from Japan; other features include "Linda Linda Linda," also from Japan, and "Friends with Money," starring Jennifer Aniston and Frances McDormand. Tickets — on sale March 16 to members and March 20 to the public — are $10 general, $9 students, seniors, children and military, $8 HIFF members.

Elvis Costello, left, started out in the age of punk, but has since collaborated with the likes of the Brodsky Quartet and Burt Bacharach. Now he joins the Honolulu Symphony for a pair of pops concerts conducted by Matt Catingub. This will be the Hawai'i premiere of his "Il Sogno," commissioned in 2000 for an Italian ballet of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." And for die-hard "Pump it Up" fans: He will perform some of his pop hits, too. Tickets are $15-$78.

Lads and lasses are invited to the 25th annual Hawaiian Scottish Festival and Highland Games, left. No joke, the two-day affair features the entertaining talents of Frank DeLima, Molly's Revenge and The Muses. Also appearing will be The Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii, Celtic Waves, Doolin Rakes, Celtophilia, Hawaii Contra Dance Band, Jig This, the Musketeer Fencers, the Riverside Pipe Band, the Royal Hawaiian Band, the Hawai'i branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, the Shuswap Pipes 'N Drums Band, the Society for Creative Anachronism, the Squirrel Hunters and Whiskey Starship. The ever-popular Society of Seven returns to Hawai'i to pay tribute to member Gary Bautista, who died in January. The troupe of Tony Ruivivar, Bert Sagum, Randy Abellar, Roy Guerzo, Hoku Low, Wayne Wakai and Albert Maligmat will be joined by Philippines entertainer of the year Lani Misalucha, now a regular member of the SOS, and Philippines crooner Martin Nievera. Tickets are $45, $55 and $65, with a $5 discount for students, seniors and military.

Calling all car lovers: The 2006 First Hawaiian International Auto Show, above, brings in hundreds of new cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs for a sneak peek. The event also features pre-production models, specialty vehicles and concept cars. Tickets are $7 general, $5 those 62 and older and military, $4 ages 7-12 and free for 6 and younger. April 6 is College Two-fer Night (college students get in two for the price of one) and April 9 is Kids Day (those 12 and younger get in free with a paying adult).

What a coincidence! This year's environmentally-friendly Kokua Festival takes place on planet-friendly Earth Day. On the entertainment lineup: Jack Johnson, left, Willie Nelson and the Planetary Bandits, Ben Harper, Henry Kapono, Paula Fuga and the One Love 'Ohana Band and ALO. Other attractions include organic food and drinks, Earth-friendly products and services, alternative-energy demos, interactive games and crafts for the keiki, and environmentally active groups. The festival is a benefit for Johnson's nonprofit Kokua Hawai'i Foundation, which supports environmental education. Tickets are $35 lawn, $40 reserved, $50 seated pit, $17.50 children 3-10 and free for children younger than 3.

It's all about books, reading and music at the Hawai'i Book & Music Festival, "A Celebration of Story and Song," featuring local, national and international authors and musicians, performances, presentations, demonstrations and signings.
