PHILADELPHIA — Kyle Korver's role has changed. The big 3-pointers he has a timely knack of hitting have stayed the same.
The near-perfect sharpshooter used his 3s to help bump Philadelphia to an even bigger 3: 3-0 for the first time in six seasons.
Allen Iverson scored 31 points and had 13 assists, and Korver scored 13 of his 22 points in the third quarter to lead the 76ers to a 107-98 win over the Miami Heat yesterday.
Andre Iguodala scored 20 points for the surprising Sixers, who are the only undefeated team in the Eastern Conference.
"We've got to keep on building on what we've been doing," said Korver, who hit 5 of 6 3-pointers. "We have a long ways to go, but we feel like we're doing OK right now."
Korver rallied the Sixers with 3s in the third quarter and helped them build a 17-point lead midway through the fourth until Antoine Walker cut the gap with a 3-point rampage of his own.
Walker sank three straight 3s that made it a 10-point 76ers' lead late in the fourth.
Unlike last season, when the Sixers had a troubling habit of folding down the stretch, this year's team has shown a dogged resolve to keep the lead. Iguodala, who had a sensational all-around game, hit an 18-footer and Kevin Ollie made a baseline jumper to push the lead back to 13, and the Sixers held on for their most impressive victory of the season.
The Heat played without center Shaquille O'Neal, who bruised his left knee in Friday's win at New Jersey. O'Neal is day-to-day.
SPURS 103, RAPTORS 94
TORONTO — Tim Duncan scored 26 points and Tony Parker added 19 to lead San Antonio over Toronto. Brent Barry made five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for the Spurs, who shot 50 percent in bouncing back from a loss to Cleveland on Friday.
SUPERSONICS 117, LAKERS 101
SEATTLE — Ray Allen scored 32 points and the Seattle SuperSonics picked up their first victory of the season by beating Los Angeles. Seattle put five players in double figures and avoided its first 0-3 start since 1985, a needed victory with a five-game East Coast road trip starting tomorrow in Miami.
HAWKS 95, MAGIC 82
ATLANTA — Joe Johnson scored 31 points, and Zaza Pachulia added 17 points to help Atlanta move over .500 for the first time since 2002. The last time Atlanta (2-1) was over .500 was when it was 6-5 in November 2002. Orlando had only eight assists, matching a franchise-low, as it lost its first road game of the season.
HORNETS 96, ROCKETS 90
NEW ORLEANS — David West scored 20 points and Chris Paul tied a career high with 16 assists as New Orleans beat Houston for its third victory in three games. Peja Stojakovic hit five 3-pointers, finishing with 16 points as the Hornets brought the fans in a sellout crowd of 18,202 to their feet in the team's first home opener in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
