Three O'ahu public libraries will host free programs on how to take the SAT, for students 12 to 18 years old.

At 6 p.m. today, the Kaimuki Public Library will hold "Get Ready for the SAT Essay." Michael Gardner, a Kaplan instructor, will discuss what the test graders expect and will offer strategies on how to write a high-scoring essay. Registration is required. Call 733-8422.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Manoa Public Library, Gardner will discuss "Test Strategies 101: Demystifying the SAT." Call 988-0459 to register.

At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21, the 'Aina Haina Public Library will host "College Admissions Strategies 101: Demystifying College Admissions." Kaplan instructor Marias Proctor will give advice on what admissions officers want to see in applicants and tips for college. Call 377-2456.
