The ever-artistic Russell Tanoue is letting his creative juices flow again with "Beautiful," a once-a-month party packed with local celebrities, models and other who's who of what's what. Tanoue was the driving force of the Ocean Club's Piranha Room events, with themes such as "Las Vegas' 100th Anniversary," "Dance/Red Hot" and "Thrashed." Part of the proceeds from this first new bash will benefit The American Cancer Society.

Calling all bridezillas: Wedding professionals are ready to help at Hawaii World Class Wedding Expo, locally produced for Hawai'i's brides. Graceful hula halau will perform at Kua Mo'o'olelo (The Tradition Continues). The ladies of Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and the men of Halau Kahulaliwai will pay tribute to the kumu hula who have shared their traditions with their kumu hula, Blaine Kamalani Kia. Special guests at this "graduation" are Olomana (Jerry Santos, Haunani Apoliona and Wally Suenaga) and Kekaniwai to provide beautiful music for the evening's festivities.

You might want to dress like Carrie for Prom Through the Decades. Expect a New Year's Eve-like countdown and celebration every hour on the hour as the party time travels from one decade to the next. Ghoulish ghosts and ghastly goblins — but of the less-threatening kind! — will gather on Halloween night at Bishop Museum's 19th annual Treat Street. Keiki of all ages are invited to participate in an evening of safe trick-or-treating along the colorful Treat Street, to be built by UH-Manoa architecture students (for keiki 11 and younger), contests, storytelling, games and food.

"Makana I Na Mele: The Gift of Music," featuring the Youth Symphony I and multiple Na Hoku Hanohano award winning group Maunalua, is the annual benefit concert for the Honolulu Youth Symphony. Maestro Henry Miyamura conducts. There's also a silent auction and lu'au-style buffet dinner.

A boxing match becomes a game of musical chairs, a tennis ball has a mind if its own and surfing may never be the same — they're all part of the Honolulu Theatre for Youth production "Sport," which pokes fun at everything from competition to commercialization of the games we love to play. "Sport" is adapted by HTY artistic director Eric Johnson from "Slastic," originated by the Spanish comedy troupe El Tricicle. It features a cast of BullDog, above, Reb Beau Allen and Alvin Chan.
