Festival of flowers entertains in Waikiki

Going to this morning's Aloha Festivals Floral Parade? Take precautions: Protect yourself from the heat. Hydrate. Wear cool attire. Don comfy shoes or slippahs. Pack a snack.
And go early to secure parking and score a suitable vantage point.
It's like going to the beach — without the waves and sand.
Of course, you could actually watch from Kuhio Beach — the parade starts at Ala Moana Beach Park and winds up at Kapi'olani Park, with a stretch of the beach along Kalakaua Avenue as a possible watching point after a swim.
Clearly, you could be baking in the sun for three-plus hours — or longer. And if you think you'd need a bathroom break, plan to chill in the vicinity of a hotel; you can sneak in to use the facilities.
