KAHULUI, Maui — Nearly $3.5 million in design funds for a new science building at Maui Community College has been released by Gov. Linda Lingle. The new facility will include classrooms, offices and laboratories.
Biology, physics, chemistry, zoology, biochemistry and microbiology classes must now share space, creating challenges for conducting experiments and other laboratory configurations. The new facility will provide space where science students and faculty can interact, and room for storage.
The total project cost is $40.9 million.
Construction is expected to be completed by the summer of 2008.
