From today on, a portion of every sale at The Candy Shop will be donated to a local nonprofit of the customer's choice.
To launch the effort, the boutique is putting on a party from 7 to midnight tonight. Fashions by Leah Evans (right, photographed by Paul Hayashi) and Liezel Pagala will be featured, along with performances by Nomasterbacks, Soul Pacific and Red Eye Jedi.
The theme is neon — if you've got it, wear it. Information: 589-1102 or info@candyshop4u.com.

ACADEMIC STRESS GOT YOU DOWN? HERE ARE A FEW TIPS

September's Family Circle magazine has these tips for students: Plan ahead and study at regular times; ask for help if needed; and realize that less-than-perfect performance isn't the end of the world. Parents: Discuss the pressure with teens in the family; the engagement helps relieve anxiety.
