Due to delays and change orders that increased costs, the American Red Cross, Hawai'i state chapter, is short about $600,000 to complete renovations to its headquarters.

Renovations to the two-story building were supposed to wrap up in September.

Now, the $5 million project, which started in 2005, is scheduled for completion in mid-October, said Coralie Chun Matayoshi, chief executive officer.

"We're still committed to move ahead," she said. "We're going to make one last push to raise the money."
