EYEWITNESS TO GENOCIDE BACK

Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculee Ilibagiza returns for several speaking engagements in January.

Chosen one of the most inspiring people of 2006 by Beliefnet, Ilibagiza hid in a bathroom with seven other women to escape the massacre but lived to tell the tale in her book, "Left to Tell," and a documentary that showed how she learned to forgive those who killed her family.

She'll be talking at:

  • 7 p.m., Jan. 13, St. Anthony's on Maui.

  • 6:30 p.m., Jan. 14-15, the Blaisdell Concert Hall, which includes a special performance by Na Leo.

  • Red Mass, 9 a.m., Jan. 17, Our Lady of Peace Cathedral.
