Boys will be, well ... girls, as the San Francisco drag show, Trannyshack, makes its Island debut. Heklina, Holotta Tymes, Landa Lakes, Holy McGrail, Renttecca and Veronica Lewinsky will provide a shocking, raunchy and cutting-edge show. Past shows have included live piercings and objects set afire — you have been warned. The show has been featured in magazines such as Out, Genre, Instinct and has won several Best of the Bay awards.

Described as "a breath of fresh air" by The New York Times, The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is a company of 11 classically trained dancers celebrating its ninth season as it performs year-round in Aspen and Santa Fe. One of America's leading contemporary dance companies, Aspen Santa Fe made its New York City debut at The Joyce Theater and also was invited to perform at the legendary Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.

After more than 35 years together, three Grammy nominations and concerts around the world, the members of the Vermeer Quartet — Shmuel Ashkenasi, Marc Johnson, Mathias Tacke and Richard Young — have decided that 2007 will be their final concert season. And Honolulu is on the calendar: They will perform works by Haydn, Bridge and Dvorak as part of the Honolulu Chamber Music Series.

Northern California natives and 2005 Relix JamOff winner Plum Crazy, right, will perform its genre-blending music of rock, pop, funk and bluegrass for three nights at three different venues. Plum Crazy has shared the stage with acts such as Tea Leaf Green, Garaj Mahal, The Motet, Melvin Seals and more.

One of the top innovators in the late '60s to '80s, Russell was considered "the top live performer in the world in 1973" by Billboard Magazine. His latest album is 2006's "Angel In Disguise."

    An all-star lineup of reggae performers will make a splash at the two-day Kolohe Festival. Steel Pulse, Bunny Wailer, Midnite, Native Elements, Ooklah the Moc, Humble Soul, B.E.T. and Paula Fuga will take the stage along with many special guests.     Attention all fashion enthusiasts: The Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association presents "A Fashion Extravaganza" fundraiser, fashion show, luncheon and craft sale.     The Kunia Orchid Society marks "The End of An Era": After 53 years, this will be the club's final orchid show at the rustic Kunia Gymnasium because of the recent shutdown of Del Monte's pineapple operations. The event features six orchid clubs in a competition to display their best bloomers, ethnic foods and vegetables for sale as well. Guest educational lecturers include Edwin Oka, Connie Yoshioka and Kean Matsumoto. And although this is the Kunia organization's last stand in Kunia, it's hoping to relocate to the Leilehua gym next year.

    Back in the day, Foreigner was the epitome of arena rock. Now classic-rock fans can relive the '70s and '80s with the band's mix of blustery blues and rock hard hits such as "Feels Like the First Time," "Cold As Ice," "Hot Blooded," "Urgent" and "I Want To Know What Love Is" when it stops in Honolulu for one medium-sized arena show. Original founding member Mick Jones leads the new lineup.

    Hatebreed, above, the Grammy-nominated Connecticut band, brings its angry self across the Pacific for a concert at Pipeline. Get ready for infectious hardcore punk music with titles such as "Destroy Everything," "Supremacy of Self," "Smash Your Enemies" and "Tear It Down."
