TODAY'S MUST-SEE

Football double-header, 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., NBC. This is the bonus NBC received in landing the Sunday-night football franchise: It gets the first two wild-card play-off games. The first game has Kansas City at Indianapolis; the second has Dallas at Seattle. Both could draw big TV audiences. The Dallas Cowboys have brought strong national ratings this season; the Indianapolis Colts offer the promise of a Peyton Manning air show. Neither team expected to have to play on this first weekend.

OF NOTE

"Over Your Head," 11 a.m., HGTV. After an appealing debut Sunday, this show settles into its regular slot helping people finish home-improvement projects they started and then delayed. Hosting is Eric Stromer, the carpenter-actor-composer who has a Robert Redford look. Stromer, who was on NBC's short-lived "Three Wishes," brings a sense of zest and fun.

"Don't Sweat It," 11:30 a.m., HGTV. Here's another new home-improvement show hosted by a carpenter-actor. Steve Watson ("Monster Garage") helps people finish long-delayed projects.

"Kill Bill, Vol. 1" (2003, 6 p.m.), and "Kill Bill, Vol. 2" (2004, 8:15 p.m.), TBS. Quentin Tarantino's violent epic was filmed in one bunch then split in two. Uma Thurman stars as a bride seeking revenge. David Carradine is Bill.

"Secret Admirer" (1985), 6 p.m., i (formerly Pax). An unsigned love letter ends up in the wrong hands, creating humor and romance. That slender story became a surprisingly pleasant film, with C. Thomas Howell and Lori Loughlin as the young leads. It was an impressive directing debut for David Greenwalt, who went on to "Buffy," "Angel" and "Kidnapped."

"Murder 101: College Can Be Murder," 7, 9 p.m., Hallmark Channel. Here's the second film with Dick Van Dyke as a crime-solving professor. You can catch a rerun of the first one at 5 p.m.

"Desperate Housewives," 7 p.m., ABC. Here's some quick catch-up reruns before the new episodes resume. In the first rerun, Bree meets her nasty new mother-in-law, played by Dixie Carter; also, Lynette becomes suspicious of the new neighbor and Gabrielle makes a disastrous attempt at returning to modeling. The next two hours see an expansion of Lynette's suspicions and of Susan's romance with Ian; Gabrielle tries teaching kids and meets a new guy.

"Cold Case," 7 p.m., CBS. When a young man was stabbed outside a theater showing "Halloween" in 1978, it was assumed to be a copycat crime. Now there are doubts.

"Without a Trace," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, a single father and his two children disappear. A pool of blood is found at their home.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Alec Baldwin hosts this rerun with music from Christina Aguilera.
