Downtown goes up in office price

Downtown Honolulu office space got pricier during the fourth quarter, in keeping with national trends of lower vacancies translating into higher prices.
A report by Colliers International found that rates averaged $34.20 per square foot in Downtown during 2006's last three months, or 8.6 percent higher than a year earlier. Nationally, Colliers reported that Downtown office rents rose 6.4 percent during the fourth quarter.
COFFEE HARVEST, PRICES MAY FALL
Hawai'i coffee production is expected to fall 11 percent to 7.3 million pounds in the current 2006-07 season, according to an estimate released by the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Farm prices are projected to fall 9 percent to an average of $4.15 a pound. Farm sales of coffee this season are expected to fall 19 percent to $30.30.
SPRING-BREAK AIRFARES LOWER
Average airfares to Hawai'i during spring break have fallen up to 15 percent compared with the same time last year, according to a report released by Expedia.com.
VENTURE CAPITAL AIDS 7 COMPANIES
Seven Hawai'i companies received $17.1 million in venture capital last year, according to the MoneyTree Report released yesterday by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. The identities of the companies were not disclosed.
