The Stardust will be imploded in March (the date hasn't been released). Construction will then proceed on Echelon Place, the north Strip mega-project counterpart to Project CityCenter on the Strip's south.

LAS VEGAS HOOTERS SOLD: Less than a year after the old San Remo was transformed into Hooters at a cost of $130 million, Hooters has been sold for $225 million to a private southern California-based investment group. Details are sketchy, but the Hooters brand will remain. The deal, set to close as early as June 30, could bail Hooters out of its doldrums, having lost $16 million in its first nine months.

LA FEMME NO MORE: The adult cabaret show at MGM Grand plans to change its name from La Femme to MGM Grand's Crazy Horse Paris, reflecting the name of the original Parisian venue where the show emerged.

RED ROCK ROOMS: Red Rock Resort has opened 400 new rooms, raising the count to 816.

COLTS THE FAVE: Las Vegas sports books have installed the Indianapolis Colts as a consensus 7-point favorite over the Chicago Bears in next week's Super Bowl. As for parties, every sports book in town will be jammed and most will offer food, drink, and betting deals such as "bet $20 and get a commemorative T-shirt."
