Superferry trial voyages starting

Hawaii Superferry's Alakai will begin making trial voyages from O'ahu to Kaua'i this week as part of its crew and staff training, route familiarization, and final U.S. Coast Guard certification in preparation for the start of service this summer.
Hawaii Superferry will host a community preview during which Kaua'i residents will be able to board the Alakai while it's docked at Nawiliwili Harbor. The date and time for the community preview will be announced later.

PROS OFFER $1M AD CAMPAIGN
Ad 2 Honolulu, a group of young advertising professionals, is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for a free one-year public service campaign valued at $1 million.
Ad 2 has put together free ad campaigns for nonprofits since 1969. Past winners include AccesSurf Hawaii Inc., Hawaii Meals on Wheels, Earthtrust and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

$25M FACELIFT FOR BIG ISLAND HOTEL
The new owners of King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel on the Big Island are planning a more than $25 million renovation of the 460-room hotel.
InvestWestFinancial/Pacifica Hotel Company said it recently closed on the purchase of the property from Honolulu-based HTH Corp. Initial improvements are under way, with renovation slated to begin in the spring. The hotel will remain open during the work.
InvestWestFinancial is a 37-year-old firm that owns and manages commercial and residential real estate, including coastal California hotels through subsidiary Pacifica Hotel Co.
