Janel Parrish, who played Young Cosette in the musical "Les Miserables" on Broadway — and in Honolulu — makes her movie debut in Lionsgates' "Bratz: The Movie," premiering Aug. 3.
Parrish, 18, plays Jade in the live-action feature based on the popular line of hip fashion dolls.
"Filming was done all over Los Angeles in February," said Parrish, a former Honolulu resident who relocated to Burbank at age 14 to pursue a career in films. "The dolls were the inspiration, but we are playing four real teenage girls."
"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul also appears in the movie.
