Grab your umbrella and wallet — Rain, one of South Korea's top stars, will perform at Aloha Stadium on June 15.

Several South Korean performers have appeared here, including Park Yong Ha at the Waikiki Shell in 2006, but Rain's concert will be the biggest one so far.

Hallyu fans have been abuzz about the concert for the last several months, but with complicated negotiations between management companies and event promoters, dates had been shuffled back and forth before the show was nailed down. Ticket sales started only 4 weeks from the concert date, soon after the confirmation from all parties.

Ticket sales have not been as brisk as the event promoters had anticipated. Rain's Coming world tour is produced by Star M, JYP Entertainment promoted by Revolution and Click Entertainment.

The 24-year-old Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, is an accomplished singer, actor, dancer and model. Koreans call him Bi (rhymes with bee), which means rain in Korean.

In 2002, Rain released his first album, "Rain," and the single "Bad Guy" was a huge hit in South Korea. He then acted in the TV drama series "Sang Doo!" ("Let's Go To School!") In 2004, Rain was in the K-drama "Full House," which became a pan-Asian hit, getting good ratings in the Philippines, China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore — as well as in the U.S. Rain followed with the drama series called "A Love To Kill" in 2005.

Rain performed in China to an audience in excess of 40,000 fans. He made his U.S. debut at Madison Square Garden in February 2006. Tickets for the two-night gig sold out in days. Ten months later, Rain sold out two shows at the Caesar's Palace Coliseum in Las Vegas. The same year, Rain made his first film, "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," with famed director Park Chan Wook. The film went on to win the Alfred Bauer prize at the Berlin Film Festival this year. But in South Korea, fewer than 750,000 went to see it.

The Rain concert in Hawai'i faces challenges. Putting together such a large-scale show in one month has the event promoters concerned. More planning time would have allowed the promoters to come up with more options, such as tour packages to Hawai'i marketed in the East and West. More sponsors could have been secured to offset expenses. Corporate partnerships could have increased awareness and ticket sales. There's no doubt that Rain is a talented hallyu megastar — he can sing, act in big- and small-screen productions, and dance. Women drool over his lean body and dance moves.

Other U.S. concert venues have sold out in days or a week but Hawai'i is a smaller market. VIP tickets, $300 a pop, are nearly sold out, but many lower- cost seats are still available. If this concert does well, other hallyu stars will see Hawai'i as a viable market for future events.

'DEAR LOVER'

EPISODES 7 AND 8

Tonight at 7: Dong-woo hears Jae-in talking on the phone with Hyun-suk. Hyun-suk and Jae-in realize that they still love each other. Ae-young asks Jae-in and Hyun-suk to join her and Dong-woo to go to Kwang's bar to taste his new appetizer menu.

Tonight at 8: Ae-young waits for her test results. When her doctor recommends additional tests, she gets a sudden urge to visit the last place she traveled to with her mother. Kang Chul professes his love for Ae-young.

'WITCH MA'

EPISODES 11 AND 12

Tomorrow at 7:50 p.m.: Joon-ha and Yu-hee are dumbfounded by Mu-ryong and Johnny's appearance. Mu-ryong catches Joon-ha trying to kiss Yu-hee in her sleep, and punches him out. Yu-hee demands Mu-ryong move out of her place at once.

Tuesday at 7:50 p.m.: Locked inside a sound stage, Yu-hee tries to call Joon-ha on Mu-ryong's phone, but the phone dies. Worried, Joon-ha tries to locate Yu-hee to no avail. Chairman Ma tells Johnny to fire Mu-ryong after Mu-ryong makes a serious mistake at the company banquet.

'TO MY LOVE'

EPISODES 19 AND 20

Wednesday at 7:50 p.m.: Suk-ju blames himself for Ji-eun's illness and asks Suh-young for forgiveness. Sang-min decides that to follow his heart, he must give up his inheritance. Ji-eun recovers from her meningitis.

Thursday at 7:50 p.m.: In this final episode, Sang-min proposes to Suh-young, but she tells him she'll never be able to forget Suk-ju. Suk-ju is half out of his mind when he sees Jung-min in a hospital.

'BLUE FISH'

EPISODES 3 AND 4

Friday at 7:50 p.m.: Hyun-wu's father storms out of Hyun-wu and Eun-su's engagement party. Eun-su's father pleads with him to put the past behind them, but he refuses. Devastated by the news of Eun-su's death, Hyun-wu rushes to the airport — and something happens

Saturday at 7:50 p.m.: Hyun-wu can't calm down when he sees a woman who looks just like Eun-su at a concert hall. He goes to Eun-su's aunt's house — and she's not there.
