DIANE PETERS-NGUYEN has been named vice president for institutional advancement at Chaminade University of Honolulu. Nguyen has 20 years of leadership experience in management, communications and development. Most recently, she was vice president and part owner of a local public relations firm.
Honolulu printing company Edward Enterprises Inc. has promoted Jyun Kanemura and Sanford Morioka to vice president. Kanemura has been with the company since 1995 and is a former assistant vice president. Morioka, who joined the company in 2002, is an account executive and the current operations manager. He has 18 years of experience in the printing business.
Lisa Sakamoto (vice president of finance for Catholic Charities of Hawaii); Ann Chung (director of economic development for the City and County of Honolulu) and Gene Awakuni (chancellor of the University of Hawai'i, West O'ahu) have been elected to the board of directors of the Hawaii Medical Service Association.
Nishihama & Kishida, CPAs Inc., one of Hawai'i's largest locally owned CPA firms, has promoted Heeyeon Kim and Lai Ieng Yee to tax seniors. Kim received her master's in business administration and master of accountancy from the University of Hawai'i-Manoa, while Yee received her bachelor's in business administration with a minor in speech from UH.
Edie Christiansen has joined Griffith Construction Consultants as project manager. She will assist in project and construction management services for real estate projects.
Sandra Billington has joined A&B Properties, Inc., the real estate subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., as a project manager. One of her primary responsibilities will be to manage A&B Properties' customer service and warranty program for residential and commercial development projects.
JAMES AGENA has joined First Hawaii Title Corporation as in-house counsel. He received his law degree from University of Hawai'i, Richardson School of Law. A partner in the law firm of Koshiba Agena & Kubota, he specializes in commercial litigation, business law, real property and property management, representing both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, foreclosure services and debt collection.
CEY MURAKAMI has joined Bow Engineering and Development, Inc., as a project manager. He will be responsible for the planning and design of projects throughout Hawai'i.
Summa Hawaii has promoted KATHRYN "KATHY" MURATA as its new tracking and logistic specialist. She will oversee the firm's procurement system, tracking purchases for the state's only one-stop, full-service provider for all procurement, project management and consulting services for hotels, resorts, condotels and timeshares.
TIMOTHY O'LEARY has been appointed president of Home Loans Direct, a full service residential mortgage provider. Previously, he was branch manager for Countrywide Home Loans, where he was in charge of overseeing all operations of the company's O'ahu and Kaua'i branches.
Roberts Hawaii has hired a number of new employees. They are: SANDI WILLIAMS, creator and manager of new sales accounts covering destination management companies and hotel conferences and conventions. Normand Robert, manager of sales and reservations agents. BLAKE HIGA, coordinator and manager of the company's vehicular operations. MICAH CHINEN, creator and manager of new sales accounts. STEPHEN LOPAZ, data marketing analyst responsible for the company's market intelligence and database management. JASON KANESHIRO, senior system engineer responsible for data center administration and help desk support.
