UPPING YOUR INTAKE
SLICING UP FRUITS AND VEGGIES MAKES THEM EASIER TO EAT
Five a day! Getcher five a day here! How can we up our fruit and veggie intake, now that the state Department of Health is kicking off a 10-week campaign to help people improve their diets? We're averaging about three or four daily, but if those veggies and fruits are handy, perhaps that number will rise. Wash apples, slice mango or cut up celery sticks and you're more likely to eat them. These foods taste wonderful and are convenient — as well as low in calories and are a good source of fiber and energy. For more, go to www.healthyhawaii.com.
