Na Leo joins Maui pops in concert

The popular female vocal trio Na Leo Pilimehana, right, will perform old and new favorites when they join the 30-piece Maui Pops Orchestra in concert at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Castle Theatre, Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Na Leo — from left, Lehua Kalima Heine, Angela Morales and Nalani Choy — are working moms who compose music that has resulted in 20 Na Hoku Hanohano awards. The concert is part of the Ho'onanea Series, which celebrates Island music and culture. Preshow festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Yokouchi Founders' Court. TOP VIDEOS EARN CASH PRIZES

Female videographers could win up to $2,500 in cash prizes in this year's Hawaii Student Film Festival, happening 10 a.m. May 12 at the Dole Cannery theaters. To spur interest in video entries by females, Big Island independent filmmaker Carmen Stevens is upping the ante with a $500 prize for best female student-produced video. Other awards include $1,000 for the best peace video, sponsored by the Honolulu Rotary Club; and $1,000 for the best overall video, sponsored by Hawaii Student Television.
