Park lecture on vanishing bird

Friends of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park will host a lecture with ornithologist and illustrator H. Douglas Pratt on March 25.
Pratt, a leading authority on Hawai'i's vanishing honeycreepers, is author of the recently published volume "The Hawaiian Honeycreepers: Drepanidinea."
He is research curator of birds for the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences.
A reception begins at 5:30 p.m. at the park visitor center, followed by a lecture on Hawai'i honeycreepers. The cost is $25 ($20 for Friends members).
