TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Dancing With the Stars" return, 7 p.m., ABC. A new round begins, fret-free. Eliminations won't start until next week. Early sympathy is with Heather Mills, the activist and estranged wife of Paul McCartney. She'll try to prove she can compete equally, dancing with a prosthetic leg. The line-up has athletes — boxer Laila Ali, skater Apolo Anton Ohno, basketball player Clyde Drexler. It has singers Billy Ray Cyrus and Joey Fatone, actors Ian Ziering and John Ratzenberger. There's also TV host Leeza Gibbons, model Paulina Porizkova and Shandi Finnessey, who was Miss USA 2004. Each is paired with a ballroom-dancing pro. Ziering seems to be the lucky one; he's with Cheryl Burke, whose first two partners have won.

" 'Til Death Do Us Part" debut, 7 and 7:30 p.m., Court TV. There's a sameness to these true tales, about marriages that go bad and killers that get caught. Still, they are enjoyable because each story is stylishly filmed. John Waters is the droll narrator.

"Deal or No Deal," 7 p.m., NBC. Battling the two-hour "Dancing," NBC doubles its quiz show. Tonight, twins compete for double prizes. The audience is filled with women and firemen have replaced the sleek models.

"Prison Break," 7 p.m., Fox. Michael and Linc have made it out of Chicago, but Sara got separated from them.

"How I Met Your Mother," 7 p.m., CBS. Ted is ready to move in with Robin; Barney takes extreme steps to stop him.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine," 7:30 p.m., CBS. Oblivious to politics, a guilt-ridden Christine tries to get involved.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m., CBS. When Jake puts up posters of women instead of Harry Potter, his dad has a midlife crisis.

"24," 8 p.m., Fox. Acting president Noah Daniels (Powers Boothe) considers desperate steps.

"Rules of Engagement," 8:30 p.m., CBS. Jeff clings to his old college T-shirts and college memories.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. A rich developer has been killed at his wife's plush fund-raiser.

"Black Donnellys," 9 p.m., NBC. Tommy Donnelly desperately tries to adjust to the murders done by him and by his brothers. Tonight, an implied threat to his mother forces him to betray a decent widow. It's another quietly intense hour, powerfully acted and directed.

"What About Brian," 9 p.m., ABC. Dave and Deena must finally decide if they're going to sign their divorce papers. Meanwhile, an embarrassing photo of Brian and Stephanie might split them.
