TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Jericho," 7 p.m., CBS. The season finale for this well-made show finds lives in a bizarre detour. After nuclear bombs exploded in the cities, small-town Kansans focused on survival and cooperation. Now all of that has changed. The town of Jericho is at war with neighboring New Bern. Outnumbered and outarmed, Johnston Green (Gerald McRaney) rallies his people. By the end of the hour (and the season), a key Jericho person will have been killed.

OF NOTE

"Vacation" (1983), 5 p.m., TV Land or "Best in Show" (2000), 8 p.m., E. There's a growing trend among cable channels who scrap their series and insert an old movie. We won't gripe in this case, because these happen to be good films. One is a loopy look at every family vacation gone wrong, as seen through Chevy Chase's character. The other is more of a sly and subtle look at the people at dog shows. Christopher Guest directed lots of actors (including himself) who are good at improvisation.

"Bones," 7 p.m., Fox. A body is glowing green. This is probably not a good thing.

"According to Jim," 7 p.m., ABC. Jim really doesn't like going to musicals with Cheryl. He's looking for someone to take his place.

"Notes From the Underbelly," 7:30 p.m., ABC. No one said life would be easier after childbirth. Andrew and Lauren debate breast-feeding; Julie and Eric become distant.

"Secrets of the Dead: Headless Romans," 8 p.m., PBS. Here are more bones — lots of them — in real life. Hadrian's Wall was built at the English city of York to keep barbarians away from the wealth of the Roman empire. Near the wall, archaeologists found 30 skeletons, each with its head chopped off. Historians try to learn more.

"Crossing Jordan," 8 p.m., NBC. A man tells Woody he's slowly dying of poisoning. His only wish is to find his daughter before he dies.

"Lost," 8 and 9 p.m., ABC. First is a rerun in which Locke goes after Ben, the leader of The Others. Then comes a new episode, during which Juliet's secret is exposed, Ben reluctantly tells some of the island's secrets, and we learn more about his background.

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. This is the midsection of a three-parter that involves former Fox stars. Jason Priestley ("Beverly Hills, 90210") plays someone whose wife has been killed. Neve Campbell ("Party of Five") plays Allison's new friend Debra.
