Two passengers who died aboard a cruise ship that docked yesterday in Honolulu have been identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as Sylvia Clark, 76, of Ashland, Ore., and Alvin Letkeman, 73, of Burnaby, British Columbia.

Both were aboard the Sapphire Princess on a cruise that originated in Sydney, Australia.

According to a Honolulu police report, Clark died Sunday and Letkeman Tuesday.

Clark was experiencing health problems on the cruise and had gone to the infirmary for medical attention, police said. On Sunday, she began experiencing breathing difficulties.

Letkeman had fallen a couple of times during the cruise, police said, and complained of dizziness while in the bathroom yesterday. He lost his balance while in the bathroom and fell.

The Medical Examiner's Office planned an examination today to determine cause and manner of death.

Police have tentatively classified the cases as unattended deaths. There was no evidence of foul play, police said.

The Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i assisted relatives of Clark and Letkeman today with funeral plans.
