Wilson's slam boosts BeachBoys

Michael Wilson drove in four runs and Dan Murphy batted 4 for 4 to lead the Waikiki BeachBoys over the Honolulu Sharks, 13-9, in a seven-inning game yesterday in Hawaii Winter Baseball at Hans L'Orange Park.
Wilson, who was 2 for 4, hit a grand slam for the BeachBoys (13-14) off starter Takuya Furuya (3-2), who was tagged for nine runs (eight earned) in five innings. The Sharks (12-14) committed five errors.
Josh Sullivan (1-3) allowed three runs (two earned) with four strikeouts in four innings for Waikiki. Zach Simons notched his first save with 1 2/3 innings of relief.
Also hitting home runs were Murphy and Justin Sellers for Waikiki and Jason Place for Honolulu.
The nightcap between the West Oahu CaneFires and North Shore Honu was canceled because of rain. The league said the game will not be made up.

BYUH WOMEN WIN
Natasha Aiono and Hailey McKee scored goals as Brigham Young-Hawai'i defeated Grand Canyon, 2-0, yesterday in a Pacific West Conference women's game at La'ie.
Becky Ploeger made five saves in goal for BYUH (12-6-1 overall, 9-2 PacWest).
Grand Canyon fell to 4-13-2 and 4-6-1.
In the men's game, Daniel Sabillon and Albert Escovar scored goals as Grand Canyon (11-4-4, 8-0-1) rolled to a 2-0 victory over BYUH (9-9, 5-4).
