Central O'ahu's makeup mavens will likely flock to Sephora at Pearlridge Center Uptown, which opens today.

The 5,815-square-foot beauty emporium offers more than 15,000 products from 200-plus brands. As at the Ala Moana store, customers can serve themselves and seek advice from a Sephora beauty expert.

The new store will offer makeup lines such as Make Up Forever, Stila, Bare Escentuals and Nars, as well as innovative skin care lines, including Comedicine, Fresh and Bliss, and select fragrances from hundreds of companies, including Fracas, YSL, Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney.

CANE HAUL ROAD, PALS

Grant Kagimoto, of Cane Haul Road, has invited a group of friends to participate in a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Kuhio Elementary School.

Among the 20 participants are Raymond Yamachika, KI Designs, Wabi-Sabi, Nui Mono, Kim Kono, One by One and Ume Pitts.

The fair will also offer an opportunity to receive a free 2008 Cane Haul Road calendar, an annual tradition. This year's calendar helps celebrate the company's 30th anniversary. It features 12 new dishtowel designs. Kagimoto also has reissued 12 of the most popular T-shirt designs from his archives, including Mynah Mynah, Club Musubi and Cat & Musubi.

ARCADIA JEWELRY SALE

Love vintage and estate jewelry? Then you'll want to be at Central Union Church tomorrow for the second annual Arcadia Jewelry Sale, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Central Union Church Women's Building, 1660 S. Beretania St. Free parking will be available on church grounds.

Incredible bargains can be expected, based on the experience of last year's attendees, who lined up to get into the sale. More than 500 pieces of antique, modern and estate jewelry will be offered at prices ranging from $4 to $4,000. Diamonds, rubies, pearls, jade, onyx and turquoise will be offered, as well as gold, silver and platinum. There will be rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, tie pins, watches and pocket watches. Added this year are American collector coins and fine silver pieces.

Much of the jewelry was donated by residents and staff of Arcadia. Proceeds will be used to provide services to Arcadia's nursing-care patients.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS SALE

The Laniakea YWCA, 1040 Richards St., is holding a clothing sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow, to benefit Dress for Success. The program provides free interview outfits to economically challenged women who are seeking employment.

BIG SHOE BARGAINS

DESIGNS OF HAWAI'I

There's No Place Like Om yoga studio in Waimea on the Big Island will showcase local designers in "Designs of Hawai'i" from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Kathryn Wiese, event organizer and director of the studio, promises "resort-quality items at kama'aina prices." Among the designers will be Honolulu's Momi Chee of Lily Lotus, who designs an upscale line of yoga and day wear. Pualalia Creations, designed by Erin Brown of Kapa'au, will provide one-of-a-kind necklaces made with Ming pottery shards, gemstones and sterling silver beads.
