Horticulturalist to speak about Moloka'i's plants

Bill Garnett, who specializes in the recovery of endangered Hawaiian plants, will discuss "Living on the Edge: Restoring Coastal Plants and Habitats on Molokai's North Shore" at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Waimea Valley Audubon Center.

Garnett is a research horticulturalist with the University of Hawai'i's Cooperative Studies Unit. He has worked to collect, propagate and recover many of Hawai'i's most endangered plants and restore Native Hawaiian ecosystems on O'ahu, Lana'i and Moloka'i for the last 22 years, beginning at Waimea Arboretum.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
