A new farmers market will open in the Kmart shopping center parking lot in Kailua starting Nov. 1, and from then on will ben open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The farmers market will be open from 7 a.m. until 5 p. m., and will feature farmers, crafters and food vendors.

Nonprofit associations will be offered free space at the market every week for fundraising events. The market no-profit space is available on a first-come first-served basis, and no nonprofit agency will be turned down, organizers say.
