The current Hawaii Superferry issue has caused debate among public, private and civil sectors that requires careful conflict resolution. How to effectively resolve such conflicts is the topic of the 1.5 day class, MULTIPARTY CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, to be taught by master mediator and facilitator, Dr. Peter Adler. Community activists, government officials, facilitators and mediators are encouraged to attend; the public is welcome as well.

In addition to cans and bottles, contaminated land is sometimes a candidate for recycling. Hawaii Brownfields Forum #3 will offer information to prospective land recyclers Wednesday at Ala Moana Hotel, Garden Lanai Room. Breakfast and networking will kick things off 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. to noon session on managing risks and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. segment on site investigations.
A panel of senior executives representing lenders, developers, landowners and regulators will discuss how to use environmental insurance and how to perform thorough, cost-effective site investigations. The event is sponsored by the State Department of Health, Environmental Protection Agency and Center for Creative Land Recycling.

Lifestyle Centers are a new real estate trend that combine a creative mix of open-air upscale retail, restaurant and entertainment options, typically near residential developments.
